Couple of cool things going on in the world of the network.
Supported Studios Website
One of the best outcomes of the SSN project so far has been this amazing new website dedicated WHOLLY to supported studios. It makes my own humble website a touch redundant really, although my lackasdaisical approach to posting on Other Academies in the last year or so had pretty much made it that way already. It’s a pretty sexy website.

John Demos
Another is an exhibition of John Demos’ work going up at Project Insideout at Macquarie Hospital. I have a bit of a man crush of Demos – amazing work and an amazing man.
Clarrice Collien – A Walk in the Park
Another amazing artist has a show coming up at Damien Minton Gallery in Redfern. This is quite a coup for Clarrice. Every time a commercial galleries engages with work coming from Supported Studios, a child smiles and a butterfly takes flight. Not really, but you get my point. It’s a good thing. Clarrice had exhibited at the gallery earlier this year, but this is her first solo show. Let’s hope it sells well and we see more in the future, hey?

Danielle Golding is having a show at Callan Park Gallery! I wrote a catalogue essay for a show she did with Kevin Meagher, and she’s a very talented woman. Callan Park is by appointment, but it’s an appointment worth making I assure you.

Final thing is that I wrote an essay for the next issue of Un Magazine on the subject of Supported Studios. Keep an eye out for it.
Also, for those of you into semantics. I’ve renamed Other Academies. It’s no longer a research project, I have given it the title of ‘intermittent thing’.
